The unique birds of Hawaii, once so common in the Islands, have become increasingly rare and elusive. Finding them – and capturing their images for posterity – has become the personal mission of photographer Jack Jeffrey.
Jeffrey takes us on a fascinating tour of this little-seen world, introducing us to birds that evolved without natural predators, becoming specialists in extracting the food they need from Hawaii’s equally unique plant life.
