Playing with fire? Not exactly, but the effortless grace of the accomplished fireknife dancer makes it look almost like a game. In an incredible display of agility and bravery, these dancers carry on a thrilling tradition – defying the danger inherent in the flames and cutting edges.
Once a year, the best of the best firedancers gather at the Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu for the World Fireknife Championship. It was held over four days this year, and there was no hotter ticket in the Islands.
