Jack Johnson – Kokua Hawaii Foundation“Kokua” is a Hawaiian word meaning, at its simplest level, to extend help to others. It is a concept that is intrinsic to the Islands, and singer Jack Johnson is working to spread the spirit of kokua to help protect and preserve the natural environment that sustains us all.

Johnson, a native of Oahu’s North Shore who is well known for his commitment to an eco-friendly lifestyle, founded the Kokua Hawaii Foundation to spread a message of environmental responsibility. The Foundation’s efforts are focused particularly on educating the keiki, or children, of the Islands.

Once a year, Johnson headlines the wildly popular Kokua Festival, a musical event that raises environmental awareness while raising funds for the Foundation’s programs.
