Honolulu – 100 Years in the Making

Posted on May 24, 2010 in Film, Hawaii

Honolulu hasn’t always been the city of tall towers and tourist attractions you see today. Hawaii’s capital has seen many changes in the last century, chronicled in the film “Honolulu – 100 Years in the Making.”

Rare historical footage shows what Honolulu was like at the turn of the last century, while interviews with key figures in business, government and tourism provide an insider’s perspective on the events that shaped the city.

Familiar faces with Island ties also make an appearance, from Elvis to surfing and swimming legend Duke Kahanamoku to singer Israel “Iz” Kamakawiwo‘ole. It’s an engrossing look at the city on its 100th anniversary.
